What is ProtoKoli?

For game dev professionals and game dev teachers

In the spirit of game jams, everyone is welcome to participate. Signing up for volunteering is highly appreciated!

Prototyping and nature

Developing a game prototype together, in 4 days.

Focused devving and relaxing in nature, walking in the forest, swimming in the clear water lake. Enjoying togetherness and informal learning.

DIY proto of Protokoli

On this first Protokoli, we’ll be 9-12 people in one cabin. Be one of the pioneers!

By 11th of August, we decide if we need to rent more similar cottages next to this one.

We’ll take turns in cooking food for all.

With electricity, sauna and 50 meters to the lake, that is still warm in August.

Practical information

  • We’re committed to keeping our community safe for everyone and ProtoKoli has a zero-tolerance policy on harassment in any and all of its forms. We follow the Finnish Game Industry code of conduct.
    • We will have anti-harassment contact person/s on the event.
  • We do our best to accommodate for inclusion and accessibility.
    • The housing is not wheelchair accessible.
    • The entrance includes stairs from the car parking and the lake to the house, that can be avoided by walking 200 meters. The housing has steep stairs for 3/12 beds.
    • The program has a planned walk of 5 km, which of 2 km on hills (vaaroilla). We can make arrangements and adjustments.
  • Price of attending is 175 euros, including housing for 5 nights and food cooked by the attendees (breakfast/lunch/dinner).
  • The event aims for non-profit. If there is profit made, it’s donated to Finnish Game Jam ry.
